I said “um” in every meeting.
So I built an app that taps my wrist when I do.

Teach it your voice.

Read a short text aloud once — it takes about 15 seconds. From then on, only your fillers count, not other people’s.

Watch yourself speak with fewer fillers.

See when your fillers came up in each session, and how your score changes over time.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Start a session on your iPhone and it vibrates with a live counter on screen. Start it on Apple Watch, and you feel the tap on your wrist.

Does it record my meetings?

No. Audio is analyzed on your device: only the last few seconds of conversation are held in memory, then discarded. It is not saved or sent, and no text is created.

Which filler words does it recognize?

“Um” and “uh” in English, including the long “umm” and “uhh”.

Why not “like” or “you know”?

Whether they’re fillers depends on the whole sentence, so the tap would come too late. “Um” and “uh” can usually be caught the moment you say them — and they’re the fillers listeners notice, the ones that make a speaker seem unsure.

Will it count other people’s “um”?

Yes, until it knows your voice. Read a short text from the screen aloud for 15 seconds, and from then on it counts only your fillers.

Does it work on video calls?

Yes, for calls on your computer. OkiTalkie listens through the microphone of the device you started the session on, so keep your iPhone on the desk near you or wear your Apple Watch. OkiTalkie can’t run during a phone or video call on the same device.

Does it make a sound?

No sound — just a quiet tap.

Why sessions, not all day?

All-day listening would drain your battery, so sessions last up to 60 minutes.
